Job Title: Appraiser

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, office and field work associated with the appraisal of residential, rural, and commercial properties — data collection, inspection, analysis, and application of appropriate valuation approaches and techniques. On-the-job training and benefits. Appraisers assist with taxpayer inquiries, prepare data reports on request, and represent the District in the informal and formal protest hearing process.

Physical setting:

  • Office
  • Outdoors

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

License/Certification:

  • Clean driving record (required)
  • RPA or in progress to obtain RPA (required)
  • Must pass background check

Bookkeeper (Part Time)

A working knowledge of QuickBooks  is helpful. Duties include managing day-to-day financial transactions, data entry of financial information, reconciling bank statements, and assisting the Chief Appraiser with data collection and preparation of reports for mandated audits. General customer service and clerical tasks (e.g., answering the phone, assisting customers at the counter, filing, etc.) may be required along with any other work assigned by the Chief Appraiser.

Salary is based on experience.

For motivated individuals, additional training is possible to become an appraiser and attain a Registered Professional Appraiser license.

Agricultural Clerk (Full Time)

Knowledge of agricultural activities (e.g., how to use land, some animal husbandry, familiarity with typical crops grown in our area, etc.) is preferred, although we will train candidates as needed. Applicants must be able to type and have a basic understanding of spreadsheets and Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word, Excel, etc.). Training in use of our Computer Assisted Mass Appraisal software will be provided. Independent and guided training will be provided, so applicants must be self-directed and able to read, write, and use a computer. Excellent customer service soft skills are desirable, as well as an understanding of how to handle confidential information.

Duties include handling and processing of applications and other forms, general customer service tasks (e.g., answering the phone, assisting customers at the counter, etc.), clerical tasks (e.g., filing, data entry, etc.), and any other work assigned by the Chief Appraiser.

Salary is based on experience.

For motivated individuals, additional training is possible to become an appraiser and attain a Registered Professional Appraiser license.
